LEED Projects
The US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification System has become the standard in forward-thinking-design in the United States. All of the Principals in The Ballard Group, Inc. are LEED Accredited Professionals. Using this expert knowledge they pursue each project with a complete understanding of the requirements for LEED levels (Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Certified). We utilize many innovative design strategies in all of our projects, whether intended to go through the certification process or not. We are fully committed to energy-efficient and environmentally conscious design in all of our projects.
Although this page only showcases the projects that have or plan to receive LEED Certification, energy-efficient and environmentally conscious design is a focus of the design industry as a whole and project owners alike. Some municipalities are taking the lead by making energy-efficiency mandatory via the Local Building Code. Fort Collins, Colorado is taking the leading edge of energy efficiency with the primary goal being a Net Zero District. TBG's branch office is located within the City of Fort Collins and we perform quite a bit of work here.
"The Fort Collins City Council recently adopted goals to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by 20% before 2020, and 80% by 2030 across all sectors relative to 2005 levels. The goals are some of the most ambitious of any city in the world." --FortZED.com "RMI Outlet: Fort Collins Steps Up, Approves Accelerated Climate Target"
Even if the facilities in Fort Collins are not getting LEED Certified, they are certainly designed with the highest level of energy efficiency in mind.
