Matt Doll is the head of our Fort Collins office, serving as the Principal In Charge of mechanical engineering and Lead Project Engineer. Matt was with The Ballard Group, Inc. from 2000-2005 and rejoined the company in 2010. He has a total of 28 years of engineering experience, is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado and Wyoming, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

 

Along with his associate Principals, he establishes the HVAC system building design criteria, is involved in space planning, and is responsible for providing energy-efficient mechanical designs that meet the owner’s expectations and budget. He designs new and upgraded mechanical systems from the initial Schematic Design through permitting, and Construction Documents, through final construction providing submittal review, site observations, and reports to the Owner to verify that the project is being built to our design standards. He coordinates projects with owners, architects, and other engineering disciplines during and following design; supervises and oversees the work of HVAC designers, engineers, and draftsmen; oversees and provides quality control for designs drawn under his responsible charge; provides construction administration services. He also troubleshoots and provides assessments of existing mechanical systems.

 

Matt, and the Fort Collins office, currently provide engineering services for the north-central part of Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska, but can design systems that comply. The current building codes in Larimer County, particularly in the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland, include many items aimed specifically at energy efficiency, including the goal of net-zero energy use for certain new buildings.
