Peter Failla serves as the Principal-In-Charge of Mechanical Engineering, Project Manager & Lead HVAC Engineer. He has been with The Ballard Group, Inc. since 2006 and has 20 years of engineering experience. Peter is a licensed Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Along with his associate Principals, he establishes the HVAC system building design criteria, is involved in space planning, and is responsible for providing energy-efficient mechanical designs that meet the owner’s expectations and budget. He designs new and upgraded mechanical systems from the initial Schematic Design through permitting and Construction Documents, through final construction providing submittal review, site observations, and reports to the Owner to verify that the project is being built to our design standards. He coordinates projects with owners, architects, and other engineering disciplines during and following design; supervises and oversees the work of HVAC designers, engineers, and draftsmen; oversees and provides quality control for designs drawn under his responsible charge; provides construction administration services. He also troubleshoots and provides assessments of existing mechanical systems.
Peter’s ability to teach and lead young engineers, along with his exceptional knowledge of mechanical engineering has truly come to the fore as a Principal of The Ballard Group, Inc. He thrives as a mentor and Principal-In-Charge of Mechanical Engineering, where he is able to set the direction of the design and guide others to understand the rationale behind the elements of the design as well as the technical details of the mechanical systems.
