High Plains School

The Ballard Group provided the mechanical and plumbing system design on this design/build geothermal project. The project scope was design engineering the HVAC and plumbing systems for this new Pre-K - Grade 12 school with classrooms, gym, lockers, science rooms etc. The main mechanical system that was designed and installed is a geothermal system utilizing water source heat pumps with ducted ventilation air from dedicated, outside air, heat recovery ventilators. This system features the use of a deep bore geothermal exchanger field used to reject heating during the cooling season and to claim heat during the heating season.
