Tim Harris serves as the Principal In Charge of Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Medical Gas Engineering. Tim has been with The Ballard Group, Inc. since 1981 and has a total of 42 years of engineering experience. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.

 

Tim establishes the plumbing, fire protection, and medical gas systems building design criteria and is responsible for providing energy-efficient designs that meet the owner’s expectations and budget. He designs new and upgraded systems from the initial Schematic Design phase, through coordination with the architect and other engineering specialties in the Design Development phase, through permitting and Construction Documents, and through final construction. He provides submittal reviews, site observations, and reports to the architect/owner to verify that the project is built to our design standards. He also troubleshoots and provides assessments of existing plumbing, fire protection, and medical gas systems.

 

Tim’s knowledge of plumbing & fire protection systems is second to none and he is currently one of the best plumbing systems designers in the country. He’s always been cognizant of energy efficiency but the LEED Certification Program showed that his designs already met and exceeded the initial standards to receive full credit points for plumbing systems.

 

Tim designs or oversees every plumbing, fire protection, or medical gas design that is completed here - close to or exceeding 150 designs of various sizes per year.
